Thank goodness for the leadership in the City of Destin. A continuing increase in taxes during an economic slowdown has been shown time and time again to stall growth. This puts Walton County back at an advantage and will help us get more of the needed commercial infrastructure so sorely needed to increase traffic and population along the coast.

Waggish I thought. Mostly sit here amazed that the people of Destin think this is a good idea to do right now. But the unintended consequeneces will be further push of developement into Walton County. Thank goodness it takes forever to get a project passed over here so it would be a bit before we see even more traffic. We have planners over here that need the work, so maybe this will be a good thing.

There's a certain logic to it since redevelopment and infill projects tend to be more complex beasts than greenfield developments are, and Destin is largely built out at this point.
