the first photo claims to be an aerial view of the Watercolor Inn. Where are the fact checkers at these papers?

John, this is about as good it gets for the Daily News, which is the equivalent of the Equirer as far as news reporting.

This is the second time I have seen the area promoted in New York. Yesterday the Weather Channel had an Emerald Coast commercial. Not The Beach ?, but Emerald Coast.

Actually, a pretty good article. That is a picture of WaterColor. Think it is from Western Lake and Boat House perspective looking back toward the beach and Inn area. Nice picture anyway. Looks like we can stick with Emerald Coast, Miracle Strip and our own local names if we can get this kind of great press. They know where we are and how fab we are, too!

I'm not very familiar with New York sensibilities. Did they really mean to call Seaside homely or is that a typo?

"The town no longer looks quite as pristine as in its 1980s heyday, but a few cracked paving stones and a little peeling paint make it seem more real and homely. "

maybe showing the patina of age would have been the more appropriate new urban description....

You are right DL, the first picture is looking south across the lake towards the boat house, Cerulian Park and the gulf beyond. The second pic is from Rotunda Rm. 412 which provides a beautiful 180 degree view of the gulf and beach. Don't know how many people realize it but Watercolor Inn is the only AAA 4 Diamond hotel in the Panhandle and is now managed by Noble House.
Sad sometimes to see the kids grow up but with quality projects like this and others on 30a I think that we who are fortunate enough to live here can all be thankful.
