hey sowallers
let me tell ya bout something good right now. go check out whats goin on over on clayton lane in grayton. these cats opened this joint pronto like and did a wonderful job getting going on the build out for so fast. some history:
you mostly know that they had a place in NOLA and closed it to get out of the oppression of a once great city on this earth - a great tragedy spares no souls. well, thirteen(13) staff members from FIRE HOUSE in NOLA came along with the owners to this great new life in what we call "paradise". they are open and rockin and cookin really cool food and giving the service that the great city of new orleans is known for. they are professional, courteous, technically correct and they know what they are serving. the menu reads well, sounds creative and interesting and everything i tried was great. it is a very interesting look -- has a bar in the back by the kitchen and the little rooms are divided up front to make uo the main dining area. this is the type of thing that we need to add to an already great dining region. it is not a lower end type place. it has a locals feel though but the prices are in line with what most "dining" establishments should be. i loved it, will love it some more, and wish them all the best. stuart was our sevice pro in the bar and was the cats ass.
PLEASE GO OUT AND SUPPORT OUR NEWEST KIDS ON THE BLOCK!!!!

I stopped in there the other day and talked to the owner...she was wonderful! I think this place will be a hit! She was very gracious and eager to please. The menu looks delish, can't wait to try it out!

Already invited them.....they are Thomas and Brenda...co/partners. Nice nice peeps. The Dalmation is the "face" of Fire, Thomas told me. How cool is that!:clap: :clap: :wub:

I met Brenda the other night. We were over at the thai restaurant and I went over to say hello and get some menus to post up(SJ beat me to it). The restaurant looks great and everyone was quite friendly. I'll be heading there soon.

I wholeheartedly agree, let's welcome Fire to the the 30-a family of Restaurants! I also know the owner's brother and sister in law and have been following their progress trying to get open. Opening at the end of a season is tough so get out and try out all that good food and hospitality at Fire! WELCOME!!! :wave:

Polly Pocket and I had lunch today at FIRE. It was absolutely WONDERFUL. I had the Grayton Club and Polly had the Burger...both served with sage potatoes....two glasses of Pinot.....Brenda Darr (owner) came by and we had a NICE LONG chat with her...she is a most welcome addition to the South Walton Community....LOVED her!!!....we need more peeps like her moving here. Service was EXCELLENT....Manager came over and introduced himself to us as well.....our server went above and beyond.....

Congrats to FIRE.....welcome, welcome, welcome!!!
