20 years and counting with the same owner says a lot about dave's leadership ability,all that in a very seasonal market makes it even more remarkable,your place sir can be called a local institution,job well done....

THANK YOU OLI :clap: :clap: :clap: Doug and I totally agree. It has hurt my heart every time I open this forum and see the same thread day after day. I haven't even felt like posting I felt so bad for Dave.

I think a personal message to Dave would have been appropriate. I understand what it's like to be ignored, treated in a rude manner in many food establishments over the years.....and if Doug had not been so hungry I would have walked out!. One of the finest in Destin did that to us and I went home and wrote a letter to the manager....and you would have thought we were celebrities the next time we walked in!

People only see the outside picture of what goes on in a restaurant.......sometimes as hard as I try in our own restaurant I just want to sit down and cry.

God bless you Oli for being the one in our industry to step up....and Dave, my gosh I do not know how you've done it all these years!:clap: :clap::wub:

Thank you to all the amazing restaurant owners and workers in our town! You work hard each day to feed us, give us drink, and entertain us, you are the heart and soul of our community.

I feel this message board gives us a chance to have dialog with you, and I believe Dave took the ?incident? with his usual grace. Restaurant review is a daily subject for discussion around here, and sometimes its not all good. Sometimes it gets personal. We all have different expectations, etc. I have no doubt that our restaurant owners are more than capable of taking the heat ? its part of the job description.

I think IBD?s honest report was precise and respectful. Some other poster remarks were perhaps more personal and less respectful. We all have really different expectations and reactions to situations. But, I believe we all learn and benefit from such dialog in the end.:wub:

I don't know Dave that well, but he comes in my restaurant pretty frequently. He's always really gracious and nice. In the restaurant business, it's rare to meet an owner who isn't pretentious or jaded. He's a class act.😀

Just had our "last night" at Bud's with Stef and Mary Lane and the Dallas contingent.

Crystal was our server downstairs on the cool loungers- she is darling and there on the weekends. She is also known as "Slam Duncan" on the PC roller derby team. She was the best server we have ever had at B&A's- what a sweet heart. We all loved her!:clap: Ask for her if you are there on a weekend- she's a mom so she can handle just about anything!;-)

Hey Kitty- ordered a Planter's Punch in your honor, tried to text you all about it, but geez- typing is hard on a dam phone.

Finished up the night at Borago - love the choc martinis.:wub:

I loved Planter's Punch. The last time I had them was on this big ferry boat in Nova Scotia. My mistake was having too many BEFORE the boat started moving. To this day if I even think of the drink, I get seasick. :puke:

I'd like to use this thread to publicly thank Dave, Kim and the staff at Bud & Alley's for hosting the Rep's member event last Thursday. Dave - you are so generous to allow us to host our events there (even though we aren't generating wedding reception-like revenue for you!), and Kim and the staff were as helpful, professional and kind as always. You've always been supportive of the theatre, and I hope you know how much it is appreciated. :clap:
