I'm not good at homemaking skills. Heck, when a button comes off, I either safety pin it on or or take it to the cleaners to get it fixed. But a few years ago in a Gator frenzy I did sew a Gator costume for Halloween from a pattern. 😀 Bought a green sweatsuit and attached the huge Gator tail that I had created. I bought a gigantic Gator head on University Avenue in Gainesville from a truck parked in front of the bars across from the library (LOL -- study hard, party hard), and "wala" -- I had a Gator Halloween costume. I have taught class in it several times.:floor:
Take home message: if I can sew a Gator tail, anyone can sew anything. Just do it!

IBD, if I can do it, anyone can. I am totally a klutz at this sort of thing. Just get a pattern and follow the instructions.

Just what are you looking for? I did a short stint making costumes at UWF theater, worked for a tailor in Pcola, did formal alterations, made boat cushions, worked with denim and lingerie. I have bigger tools now though, router, skil saw, miter saw, etc.! Love to make stuff! Built cabinets, power poles, decks, electrical boxes, bathroom fixtures... even learned how to cut glass!

Thanks, I did find that one but the one she wants has a long skirt which shows lots of ruffles when she lifts it up:roll:  . We have now settled on a target costume...

I know what kind you're talking about. My neice had one years ago from Storybook Heirlooms but I don't think they're in business anymore.
Dylan has been pouring over catalogs and internet sites trying to decide what he wants to be. Sam isn't trick or treating this year but is going to a couple of parties. It's getting harder finding her a costume that isn't um, lets just say sleezy looking.
I bet little IBD will be so adorable in whatever she decides! I think Sam was Dorothy at her age..it's about when the first red glitter shoes came out at Target.

Okay, I'm in love with this costume site. Storybook Heirlooms used to carry the best costumes and they've continued with this store. The dresses were always so beautiful from there too. Sam wore one in my friends wedding. Anywho...some little one needs this costume. Princess Kate maybe?

They have great teen ones too and I'm going to have Sam & Dylan look tomorrow.
