Just drove down 30A and it's a sea of tourons with boogie boards. Doubt very much they work well in the sand...

We are at Seaside. Had life guards, code officer, fire drive through the beach telling people to stay out of the water. At one point, a family who had a child playing at the edge getting water for sandcastle, told them people could only be on DRY sand. I thought that was very helpful. I thought about sitting a few feet from the water but it would be wet sand occasionally. Otherwise, everyone at Seaside, while we were out there til mid afternoon, stayed out of the water. Good job. Ellen

SWFD successfully performed 8 Water Rescues and Public Assists yesterday!

There should have been ZERO!

LIFE THREATENING SURF & RIP CURRENTS!!!
WATER IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC!!!
BEACHES ARE OPEN, BUT WATER IS CLOSED!!!
STAY COMPLETELY OUT OF THE WATER!!!
