The Pearl Hotel and WaterColor Inn & Resort, along with WaterColor Inn’s onsite restaurant Fish Out of Water, have each received four-stars from the 2015 Forbes Travel Guide Star Ratings. This is the first time that Forbes Travel Guide has named The Pearl Hotel to this prestigious list, while WaterColor Inn & Resort has maintained its four-star rating for three consecutive years.

Sacred Heart Hospital Community Education Classes in Feb

Join community education classes and support group meetings at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast in Feb. Topics include stroke and breast-cancer support, diabetes management and quit smoking now classes , as well as seminars on finance, healthy living and driver safety for senior adults. The award-winning hospital also hosts community blood drives, including wellness checks, once a month in collaboration with OneBlood.

Proposed Hampton Inn at Seagrove Beach Faces Opposition

A proposed Hampton Inn at the eastern end of Seagrove Beach on Scenic Highway 30A has generated fierce opposition from SoWal locals, second homeowners, and beach lovers from across the country.

WaterSound West Beach resident Ehan Lyell has created an online petition against the building of the hotel. The petition has more then 9,000 signatures. The proposed 44,205 square-foot hotel would have 90 rooms on 2.4 acres.
