Another Broken Egg Cafe - Grayton Beach
Another Broken Egg Café isn't your typical breakfast, brunch and lunch place. Now a nationally recognized franchise, the cozy café chain was started by a family that calls the Emerald Coast home. Clayton Green, son of the original Another Broken Egg restaurateur Tommy Green, owns and operates his share of the family business at Uptown Grayton.
Clayton and his faithful staff have fully bought into the concept of using only the freshest and healthiest ingredients for their food preparation. At a place where every day is Sunday Brunch, it’s not uncommon to see a line of people out the door waiting for a seat at the table.
While the restaurant’s décor is cozy and familiar, the menu is anything but traditional. Sure, you can get bacon and eggs, but once you see the gourmet menu, you’d be hard pressed to keep it simple. Fried green tomatoes and a jumbo lump crab cake on a bed of fresh spinach, topped with goat cheese, red peppers and creole remoulade sauce make for a great way to savor the morning.
The Healthy Side of the menu is where you can find wholesome, nutritious foods that won’t bore you. The Granola, Fruit & Quinoa bowl comes with house made honey roasted granola, blueberry quinoa, strawberries, blueberries, toasted coconut and crushed bananas served with coconut milk and a vanilla yogurt drizzle. Any health-conscious person can eat like a boss and walk away feeling light and clean.
Sweet potato pancakes, signature omelets and creative benedicts round out the breakfast menu, and lunch and brunch are equally satisfying. Burgers, salads and BLTs are right for the taking, but if you want to stick with the creative order of things, opt for the Waffle Sliders. Two Cheddar-Jack omelet style eggs are baked and stacked with bacon or ham between crispy Belgian waffle slider buns and served with Agave butter. They say the mother of invention is necessity. You need these.
Another Broken Egg extends their creativity to their drink menu in case you’re in need of a Spirited Morning. Bloody Mary’s, Mimosas and Irish Coffees come standard, then there’s the Strawberry Lemonade Sparkler. They combine Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka, Re’al Strawberry Purée then top it off with champagne and fresh strawberries for a delicious take on a classic beverage.
Another Broken Egg is almost as famous for their coffee as their food. Mostly because it’s delicious and strong, but largely in part due to their keepsake stoneware mugs adorned with fun colors and a fine rooster. Pick up your new favorite mug to have at home.
