SoWal Style - Vern Yip's House in Rosemary Beach

June 24, 2014 by SoWal Staff

When you step inside this fine Rosemary Beach home, it is difficult to find words that describe just how creative and unique it is. The Gulf view home is owned and has been carefully adorned by interior designer Vern Yip. It's graced by interesting artwork, décor and furniture that is a feast for the senses.

From the HGTV website...Designer Vern Yip has dreamed of building a beach house for over a decade, and has storage filled with items he's been collecting just in case that dream came true. He finally found his perfect location in Rosemary Beach, Florida and has ten months to get the entire house built and furnished. And this incredible home isn't just for him, it's going to be a rental and one lucky viewer will get to spend an entire week in it once it's finished. Vern has impeccable taste, will his strict eye slow down construction? Follow along as he and his building team race against the clock to open the doors.

The first floor has three beautifully decorated bedrooms each with a king bed, flat-screen TV with Blu-Ray player and private bathroom. The hallway just outside the three bedrooms has a bonus sleeping area for children who enjoy a bunk with style. Each bunk has a flat screen, reading lamp and can be enclosed by a large sliding door for privacy and fun.

To gain access to the main living and dining area you glide up a small flight of stairs bordered by a glass balcony rail. The entire room is dominated by whites, oranges and eastern patterns. Each window allows you to inhale the beauty of surrounding Rosemary Beach community. You can rest your legs atop a large ottoman as you enjoy your favorite movie on the large flat screen TV. Just behind the seating area is a door that leads you outside to one of several outdoor porches with spectacular views of the Gulf. This outdoor living area is made very comfortable with two couches that receive a nice dose of ocean breeze.

Just past the main living area is the kitchen and dining room. The kitchen has a large stone counter top and barstool seating enough to serve four guests. The appliances, including the refrigerator, oven and gas stove are all made by Dacor. Just behind the bar stools is a small coffee area with two comfortable sofa chairs and very unique steel table. The dining area will comfortably serve ten with two head chairs and two long wooden benches. The dining area is uniquely lit with 29 contemporary lights that hang from the ceiling.

Just beyond the dining table is a glass door that leads you outside to possibly the most relaxing space in the entire home. The main outdoor living area is styled with comfortable lounge couches, a dining table, gas grill and an absolutely beautiful 14 foot infinity pool. Just beyond the rooftops of a few homes, you can catch a nice glimpse of the famous emerald green waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The views from this living area are breathtakingly relaxing. The scent of the ocean breeze is equally therapeutic.

As you re-enter the home and glide up one last small flight of stairs, you enter the master suite. The master suite has a king bed, separate luxury bathroom and two balcony porches. Possibly the best views in the home are from any number angles in here. The king bed is lit by a beautiful metallic cylinder shaped chandelier. The room is adorned by interesting photography and artwork. A section of the room is set aside as a private living area with a couch and large flat screen television. Between the bed and living area there is a conveniently large work station with computer and device connections. The master bathroom area contains a beautiful white porcelain bath tub with plenty of room to enjoy a relaxing bath. Just on the other side of the room is a large glass shower and two sinks lit by calming lanterns and window with yet another beautiful view of Rosemary Beach. The entire room is decorated with fine pottery, flora and eastern patterns.

To truly be appreciated, this home must be enjoyed by individuals who desire to discover what creative design can bring to a relaxing vacation. A unique home like this, with a short stroll to arguably the most beautiful beaches in the world, is a recipe for a fabulous vacation.
