Hotel Oscar Crafting Genuine Music

As I walked into the Funky Blues Shack in Destin to sit down with Hotel Oscar, they were jammin’ out on stage – playing a Miles Davis. The dark empty bar during the middle of the day was brought to life by the jazzy, bluesy tune. It felt like the five guys that make up Hotel Oscar had been playing together forever – perfect chemistry and perfectly in sync - The crazy thing is, they haven’t been together long.

The first weekend of October is almost here and people on the Emerald Coast know what that means - it’s time for a great weekend on the Destin Harbor celebrating the annual Destin Seafood Festival! From Friday Oct. 4th to Sunday Oct. 6th, the Destin Harbor Boardwalk will be the center of the party that locals look forward to every year.

It's always a great party and it's for a great cause - raising funds every year for one of our favorite local organizations - Children's Volunteer Health Network (CVHN). They see to it that all children in our area receive needed medical and dental care.

This year we're so happy to have the party at SoWal.com partner Bud & Alley’s in Seaside.Our friends there will host the 9th Annual Hurricane Party on Friday, Sept. 27 from 7-10 p.m. with all proceeds benefiting CVHN.

Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra Concert Season Opens Sept. 28 with Russian Pianist

The first concert of the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra's 2013-2014 season is September 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the mainstage theater of the Mattie Kelly Fine & Performing Arts Center in Niceville. Tickets are on sale now for $22.50 each adults and $16 each for active duty
military or youth ages 18 and younger.

Sinfonia Receives Continued Grant Support from The Boeing Company for 2013 - 2014 season

Sinfonia Gulf Coast announced its continued partnership with The Boeing Company in recognition of the non-profit symphony orchestra's mission of inspiring, entertaining and educating the community with innovative and imaginative performances. The grant of $5,000 will assist the organization and its music education outreach initiatives during the upcoming 2013-2014 season.
