The Nutcracker Ballet is a New Seaside Tradition on Dec. 8

We have some wonderful holiday traditions in SoWal, and the Merchants of Seaside have started a new one. They plan each year to stage a free performance of the Nutcracker ballet.

The first performance of the new annual tradition features the Alpharetta Dance Theatre and the Dance Academy of Seaside Neighborhood School. The one-night performance is free on Dec. 8 at 5pm in the Seaside Amphitheater.

Every Kid Deserves a Christmas Present So Join the South Walton Elf Ride on Dec. 9

Luke Thompson was only 10 when he started the Elf Ride tradition in South Walton. He did it to help local children by raising awareness of the local Angel Tree charity at the South Walton Fire District (SWFD). It was a grand idea, and now five years later Luke is 15 and also known as "The Grand Elf".

We love Rosemary Beach and Cottages for Kids. About the only thing better than watching kids play out-of-control on the beach is watching them crawl over, around, and through the incredible custom playhouses every year during Cottages for Kids.

Five cottages are on display and tours are open to the public on East Long Green on Scenic 30A in Rosemary Beach. Come out on Thanksgiving Day for some outdoor fun on the lawn and play in and all around the cottages! Purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win or make a donation.

Christmas Beach Sand Sculpture in Seaside

Attached is a photo of the Sand Sculpture on the beach here at Seaside, FL, with some folks from California having their picture made. Rick and Mark, the sculptors, will be tearing it down today, but putting it back up this coming Saturday and Sunday!

They even had someone do a marriage proposal in front of it today with a photo! Another family drove from Orange Beach just for the photo and I met some folks from California and Atlanta getting their photos made in the few minutes I was down there.
