28th Annual Festival of the Arts Oct 27-29

Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation (MKAF) celebrates the cultural arts by expanding and enhancing the offerings of its annual Festival of the Arts set for October 27-29.

This year’s event kicks off on Friday, Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. with the Arty Kick-Off Party on the Henderson Beach Resort’s Piazza Plaza. Award-winning oil painting artist Kathy Schumacher will paint live, while guests enjoy hors d’oeuvres, creative cocktails by Black Sheep Tequila, live music by Coconut Radi, and a cash bar. Tickets to the Arty Kick-Off Party are $75 per person (includes two drink tickets).

Down Island Hosting Fun Nights and a Thanksgiving Feast

Down Island has recently introduced Fall Fridays with late night live music from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. (no cover) every Friday night this fall.

Late night goers will enjoy food from 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. including seasoned goldfish, andouille corn dogs, smoked fish dip, fried pickles and of course, Janca Juice (a signature drink created in memory of Chef Brannon Janca)! The restaurant closes at 2:00 a.m.

Stinky's Fall Pompano Beach To Bay Grand Slam Fishing Tournament

The Fall Pompano Beach to Bay Grand Slam Fishing Tournament kicks off on September 30th with A PARTY starting at 5PM!

Free and open to the public with live music all night. $50 tournament registration will land you an entry into the tournament, a bad to the bone newly designed tournament sweatshirt, and a $20 food voucher!

The Stinky's Fall Pompano Beach to Bay Gand Slam Tournament begins October 1 at Stinky’s Bait Shack. Anglers may weigh in fish 10AM-6PM daily through Saturday, October 28th.

8th Annual Bloody Mary Festival Oct 14

The Market Shops will host its Eighth Annual Bloody Mary Festival, benefiting Habitat for Humanity - Walton County, on Saturday, October 14.

The annual event, powered by Step One Automotive Group, will feature unlimited tastes of South Walton’s most creative and innovative bloody marys, made with Distillery 98’s Dune Laker Vodka, served by the finest establishments along the Emerald Coast.

The REP Theatre Presents The Fall Play Series

Fresh off their sold-out performances at the Edinburgh Fringe, award-winning international artists Gavin Robertson and Nicholas Collett are set to light up The REP Theatre's new season with the Fall Play Series. From literary legends to iconic characters, the Fall Play Series features the likes of James Bond, Frankenstein, and William Shakespeare in an entertaining lineup of plays that are sure to leave audiences on the edge of their seat. 

International Coastal Cleanup Sep 16

The Walton County Tourism Department, along with the Friends of South Walton Sea Turtles, will once again host an International Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 9 – 11 a.m.

Residents, students and visitors are encouraged to participate in the world’s largest volunteer effort with the common goal of cleaning up our coastal waters for our ocean’s health. Volunteer Beach Ambassador teams will be hosting teams at five South Walton regional beach accesses listed below:
