Walton County School District & Special Olympics Florida - Walton County Host Field Day May 20

In the spirit of cooperation, the Walton County School District and Special Olympics of Florida - Walton County, is hosting a Field Day event Monday, May 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Emerald Coast Middle School located at 4019 U.S. Highway 98. The event will allow Walton County school students to experience the benefits of Special Olympics sports training and competition.

The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA) of Northwest Florida State College is a local watershed organization committed to sustaining and providing optimum utilization of the Choctawhatchee Basin watershed.

We fulfill our commitment by working within four main program areas: monitoring, restoration, education, and research. This means we are constantly studying, learning, and sharing information about Choctawhatchee Bay, Choctawhatchee River, and Walton County’s coastal dune lakes.

Eight Years of Happy, Healthy Kids Thanks to Children's Volunteer Health Network

Children’s Volunteer Health Network (CVHN) celebrated its 8th birthday and hosted a Shrimp Boil at Grayt Grounds of Monet Monet on April 22 to honor volunteers, providers and community partners who play a significant role in the organization’s success. Since inception in 2005, CVHN has helped over 5,000 local children and facilitated more than 27,500 medical, dental, vision and mental health care procedures for kids who have limited or no access to the health care they need and deserve.

Brook Stetler Named Executive Director of Seaside Repertory Theatre

The Seaside Repertory Theatre Board of Governors today announced the promotion of  Artistic Director Brook Stetler to Executive Director of the theatre. As Executive Director, Stetler will be responsible for guiding the theatre through the next phase of growth as defined by the Board. He will oversee the Seaside Repertory Theatre’s consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives.

In his position as Artistic Director, Stetler was instrumental in expanding the reach of the Rep through the addition of diverse programming, and mentoring at local schools.

Get out your clubs and bring your golf buddies to the Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club June 1 for a beautiful day of golf, and so much more. This is a fundraising event for the Walton Chamber Foundation’s Youth Leadership Scholarship Fund. Come out and have a big time for a worthy cause!

Great golf, followed by a fun filled after party complete with live entertainment, signature cocktails, food and silent auction at the Vue on 30a! There are also a few ‘surprises’ planned along the way to spice up the evening.

Help us, help them by attending the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge's Waves for Wildlife Dolphin Cruise on May 4, 2013, from 2-4 p.m (boarding begins at 1:45 p.m.). You will enjoy a relaxing afternoon on a private 2-hour cruise around picturesque Destin Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico on the Southern Star Glass Bottom Boat, looking for Dolphins and other local wildlife.

Light hors d'ourves along with beer, wine and soda will be served while you enjoy live music by artist Derek Givans. Meet some of the refuge's live animal ambassadors.
