Arts in Music Festival May 18, 2014 at SoWal High

The Third annual Music in Pictures Community Music Festival celebrates arts in education in 17 Walton County Schools with 2,000 students. Music in Pictures program includes music instruction, school performances, and art contest. Three hundred finalists were selected and the exhibit is now on display. This year, with support from The Division of Cultural Affairs, the festival will be at South Walton High School.

Inaugural Writers' Conference Debuts in May at Seaside

For two weeks in May, Seaside will become home base for two professional writers who will be participating in a series of events for the first Seaside Writers Conference. Conceived by Seacoast Collegiate High School principal, Jonathan D’Avignon, the goals for this conference is to reach out to local students at both the middle and high school level and the general public by offering instruction with a heavy emphasis on the process of writing during a concentrated time period.

Sandestin Wine Festival April 10-13, 2014

Sandestin Wine Festival takes place every April throughout The Village of Baytowne Wharf. The event is the most established and continuously running wine festival on the Gulf coast and known as the “Kentucky Derby of Wine Festivals.” Always a picture perfect event complete with white tents, grand wine tastings, culinary experiences and live music.

Guests are invited to uncork some fun in the sun and see why the Sandestin Wine Festival is one of the most beloved wine festivals on the coast. Four days of unique events will include the following: 

Discover Roads Less Traveled in South Walton This Spring

The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA), in partnership with Visit South Walton and Northwest Florida State College, presents a unique series of eco-adventures in South Walton County. Discover Roads Less Traveled offers varied opportunities to explore and discover the natural resources that make SoWal unique. We encourage you to get outside and enjoy!
 

 

Q&A with Your Government SWCC Forum April 24, 2014
