Nest 30A Offers Gorgeous Giveaway to Support Caring and Sharing of South Walton

November 25, 2013 by Jill Tanner

Ali Weil, owner of Nest 30A, is asking people in the community to bring in five canned goods to the store in Grayton Beach to enter to win a fabulous basket filled with wonderful Nest gifts. All food items collected at the store will go to Caring and Sharing of South Walton's food pantry for the upcoming holiday season.

Caring and Sharing of South Walton is a non-profit organization that provides food and financial support to families in the local community. This is achieved through donations and selling of donated goods. Thousands of families and individuals are helped each year from the South Walton location.

"We saw the need in our community when I visited caring and sharing and felt the need to help our community," said Ali. "This is a great way to do that and some lucky winner is going to get an awesome basket packed with beautiful things from Nest."

The giveaway basket includes a James Farmer cook book titled A Time to Cook, four cotton dinner napkins, four hand-painted jute placemats, one Fairhope soy candle in Apple Streusel, a box of matches, locally made bowl by Mercedes Rogers Pottery in the shape of a bird's nest, and a multi-colored round accent pillow. The package also includes an original art piece by Shelley Minchew. It is titled "Beauty and the Storm". All of her pieces have a hidden message in them. This one is "Don't close your eyes or you will miss the storm beauty that follows after." The total retail value of the package is $800.00. Nest has graciously donated these items in an attempt to get people involved this holiday season. The drawing will take place on Dec. 10.

Caring and Sharing has already had a very busy year, giving out 8,164 bags of food as of September and they anticipate a very busy holiday season. Food stamps are being lowered by $34.00 a month per family and Caring and Sharing is there to help bridge that gap. The food pantry is their main mission, but clothing and furniture are needed more and more everyday. Caring and Sharing needs year-round support to fulfill their goals and help the community.

The Angel Tree signup has begun and you are encouraged to stop by and sign up to sponsor a child or multiple children. Last year, The Angel Tree provided for 375 children that number is expected to increase this year. Caring and Sharing is also collecting items for Thanksgiving bags and will begin to fill them shortly. These bags will give a family a real Thanksgiving meal. There is no better opportunity than to help a family in need over the holidays.
