30A Songwriters Festival 2012 Photo Gallery

There was something for everyone over the three days of the third annual 30A Songwriters Festival. Nonstop music in great venues indoors and out along the world's most beautiful beaches.
Lucky ticket holders were treated to more than 125 songwriters and over 250 performances in venues ranging from intimate listening rooms to spacious outdoor amphitheaters.
SoWal.com staff and contest winners covered it all and we'll be posting lots of stories, photos and videos in the coming days so stay tuned.
We'd like to hear about your experiences. What was your favorite venue? Who was your favorite artist?

My favorite venue: tie between La Botana (cozy, intimate) and First Note Music Hall (spacious listening room).
Best experience: the intense focus in each and every venue for the "listening room" experience. Admittedly some venues were more successful than others but it was not for lack of trying. This focus is the primary reason I will return and will urge others to come.
Best concerts, can't list just one, 4 really stand out, listed here in chronological order:
1. In-the-round of Eric Black, Tommy Womack (unbelievable performance of "Alpha Male and The Canine Mystery Blood"), Tania Elizabeth and Mary Gauthier, and the legendary David Olney;
2. Despite the yakkers in the back like the roar of a distant surf, Joan Osborne at Fish Out of Water;
3. Over The Rhine and Tania and Mary at the Boathouse; and
4. Marti Jones and Don Dixon at La Botana.
Hi there Alan - I saw that early show too - and it was amazing! I think you mean Jeff Black though, not Eric Black. We caught his set at the Boathouse on Sunday and it was incredible. That daytime show with those 4 was absolutely my favorite too!
Thanks Alan - good stuff! You can see more photos and videos at http://www.sowal.com/bb/showthread.php/59447-30A-Songwriters-Festival-Ph...
