Winter Solstice Run at Rosemary Beach

It’s time again for active activists to gear up for On the Ground’s annual Winter Solstice Run! OTG’s Winter Solstice Run is an audacious, all-day, running, walking, coffee-guzzling celebration of the Winter Solstice. It’s also a great fundraiser for OTG’s gender equity initiatives in the Democratic Republic of the Congo! For four consecutive years, this amazing event has been hosted by Amavida Coffee Roasters in Rosemary Beach, Florida.

On the Ground’s Winter Solstice Run is a phenomenal way to build a sense of community in Rosemary Beach, Seaside and surrounding communities.

The run begins at 6am at the westernmost point of Scenic 30A at Rosemary Beach. It is an all-day ultra-run, starting at sunrise, continuing 40 miles along the beaches, around the many lakes of South Walton, and through Florida state forests until sunset. This is all about fun, adventure and camaraderie – it’s not a race! 
 
Following the run, join fellow participants in a post-run celebration at Amavida Coffee - Rosemary Beach!
 
There is not a registration fee for The Winter Solstice Run. Instead, participating runners are asked to solicit pledges from friends and family to support Project Congo. Project Congo concentrates on gender equality and raising awareness about the key issues faced by coffee farming families in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). 

Get ready to wrap-up another great year at the 2017 Winter Solstice Run on Saturday, Dec. 16 in Rosemary Beach! Join On The Ground to once again run along Scenic Hwy 30A in support of gender equality for Domocratic Republic of Congo.
