The South Walton Fire District in conjunction with Gulf Place will host the 5th annual Polar Bear Plunge on New Year’s Day at Ed Walline Beach Access.
Registration starts at 11am at Gulf Place. “Plunge” into the Gulf of Mexico starts at 1pm sharp! A $20 donation is encouraged as all proceeds will benefit the SWFD Department Relations Committee (DRC) & Donations 4 Danny Fund. The DRC purchases fire/life safety educational-promotional items for community based educational programs that are held throughout the year. Make a splash on New Year's Day and enjoy a bonfire, music, food and a costume contest.
In the event of Red Flag Conditions, the plunge will relocate to the Gulf Place Community Park Pool. Please follow the SWFD Facebook page for updates. In addition, The Gulf Place Facebook page will also carry all the Polar Bear Plunge updates as well.
