New Year's Eve Beach Ball Drop at Pier Park

5th annual Beach Ball Drop hosted by Pier Park.

The 800-pound glowing beach ball begins the more than 100-foot descent just before midnight on December 31.

Pier Park festivities, free and open to the public, begin at 5:30 p.m. with family-friendly fun, including stilt walkers, mascots, prize zone drawings and live entertainment.

Kids beach ball drop at 8:00pm, which consists of over 10,000 inflatable beach balls released onto the boardwalk of Pier Park Drive.

The countdown celebration takes place from 8:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. when streets will be closed to traffic.

At 10:45 p.m. enjoy the headliner performance from country artist, James Otto, followed by fireworks and the Beach Ball Drop at the stroke of midnight.
