Walton County Animal Shelter

The Walton County Animal Shelter is a not for profit organization whose mission is to find homes for cats, dogs and livestock. Many times, animals who do have homes are brought to the shelter. Unfortunately, their owners do not know where to look for them. Did you know that animals obtained by Walton County Animal Control are taken to the animal shelter to be held until they are reunited with their families? If no one claims them as a lost pet within seven days, they become available for adoption.

Adoption fees are nominal at $55, and include spay or neutering, rabies vaccinations, heartworm tests (not treatment) and first series of booster vaccines.

If you are interested in adopting an animal, fill out an adoption application. You should arrive at the shelter bright and early, the first day the pet is available for adoption.

Open Tuesday – Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm. Please note, only Walton County citizens may surrender animals to this county specific shelter.

You can stay in the know by following their Facebook page for current information, and adoption events. If you know someone who has recently lost a pet, be sure to share this information with them.
