Sacred Heart Hospital Volunteer Guild: Serving with Heart

At the core of Sacred Heart's long and proud tradition of caring for the sick, the poor and the vulnerable, stands a group of volunteers whose willing hearts and helping hands have served generations of families during their time in need.

The volunteer spirit has supported and sustained Sacred Heart Health System since the Daughters of Charity arrived and founded Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola in 1915, providing almost 100 years of service to Northwest Florida. The call to volunteer expanded to the Emerald Coast in 2003 with the opening of Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast. Today, over 250 volunteers have a strong impact on our community hospital, adding a personal touch to customer service and playing an integral role in supporting Sacred Heart's reputation for providing high quality, compassionate healthcare to all.

Our volunteers share a sense of pride in the service they provide to the families who enter our doors. Some volunteers work a few hours a week, while others serve a few days a week. Special skills are nice, but not required to be a volunteer -- just a willing heart and a warm smile!

The rewards of volunteering are as individual as each volunteer, with all of our volunteers enjoying the special benefits of:

  • Free hospital cafeteria meal on your volunteer days
  • Free CPR classes
  • Free flu vaccines
  • Open invitation to Sacred Heart Hospital special events & activities
