Sacred Heart to Host Breast Cancer Support Group October 16, 2012
To meet the growing needs of breast cancer patients and survivors in our community, Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast hosts a monthly breast cancer support group. The group’s next meeting will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 6:00 p.m. in the Olson Women’s Diagnostic Center at Sacred Heart.
The mission of the support group is to empower breast cancer patients and survivors through education, spirituality, support and humor. Benefits of joining a cancer support group include an increased self-esteem, enhanced sense of community, and the joy of giving and receiving encouragement and hope. The group meets the third Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m.
The breast cancer support group is sponsored by the Olson Women’s Diagnostic Center at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast. The diagnostic center conveniently centralizes all screening and diagnostic appointments for mammograms, stereotactic breast biopsies, ultrasounds and bone density scans. A dedicated patient care navigator provides patient advocacy, coordination of services, education and support to all women and their families.
