need rec. on places to stay

Hi, I haven't been to FL in a couple of years. I am looking for a place to rent for myself, my 3 kids (5,8,13), my mother and my sister (14). My husband will pop in for one or two nights depending on his schedule, and my father will be there for one night. I am hoping to be close to the beach, access to a pool, and have a very clean, cute place. Of course, like eveyone else, I am trying not to break the bank! (no seaside or watercolors for me!) Anyway, I was hoping for some thoughts. I do have a very active 8 year old girl who loves any type of children's programs. I know 2 years ago, we stayed at gulf place and they had a program she went to for two of the days and loved it. I did not like their pool for their condos, it was WAY to small. Thank you for any suggestions.

We are hoping for 5 nights between some where between 7/18 and 7/27.

Theoretically, you could get a different recommendation from every single board member.

Check out High Pointe Resort in Seacrest.

Very kid-friendly and a great pool area. Not sure if they have any structured kid activities, but they do have a playground in addition to the pool. The pool-front units are a little more affordable than the gulf-front buildings. But bear in mind, you are coming during the summer rate period, so nothing is going to be cheap.

Most of the units rent through Resort Quest. There are a few on the VRBO site as well.

thank you for the information. I give up on the children's program. I am hoping to keep as close to 1500 for a week or 1250 for 5 nights. I know that will be hard. What is Old Florida Village like?

Old Florida Village and Old Florida Cottages are very nice locations, as is Camp Creek Cabins and Magnolia Cottages by the Sea. Old Florida is on the West end of 30-A and the Camp Creek and Magnolia is on the East end in Seacrest.
