Need Cleaning?

Hello all you SoWal folks,

Us 2 have been members on this board for a while now and it seems like we see posts for folks needing good reliable cleaners quite often. For some time now, we have been considering starting our own cleaning service and were wondering if there was indeed a market for it. It seems the demand far exceeds the supply - what do you all think? Is there more of a need for vacation rental cleaning, weekly residential cleaning, business cleaning or move in / move out cleans? We live on the 30A and would prefer to only service the SoWal area. Any input would be appreciated. By the way, we could start this week

We have never owned our own cleaning business before but are very efficient, dependable and trustworthy girls and we definitely know how to clean. When we lived in Southern California we serviced many clients with cleaning & organizing, lawn care, pet & house sitting, working as extras in movies & television, delivering flowers to the stars and other odd jobs. You name it - we've probably done it! In our down time, we also run auctions on eBay and have provided that service to many business owners and individuals in California as well.

We have also considered getting into the lawn care business here - offering a simple service of lawn cutting and clean up - nothing extravagent just a simple service. Any thoughts?

As we said earlier, we appreciate all of your time and any input. If we see this is a good idea, perhaps the next post will be to announce our new business.

Hi 2bohem. I think residential housekeeping services are a real need for permanent residents in this area. Too often cleaning services specialize in quick condo clean-up, and not a good overall deep clean in homes. The mentality is in and out and on to the next as quickly as possible.

Also, pet and/or house sitting would be another great way to help residents.

Tootsie, Thank you so much for your thoughts on cleaning. Believe us - we know it's hard to find good help around here - we've tried alot of things and there seems to be a real lack of work ethic going on with most people we've worked with - it always amazes us how some people actually are successful doing things the way they do.

We love the pet-sitting / housesitting. We actually did that fairly regularly for a few exclusive clients in Los Angeles. The only thing with the pet-sitting is that we have a dog too and she was always welcomed to come along as well. She is a good old girl and needs to be where we are.

You could talk to me about a custom plan for cleaning my home. I stopped hiring cleaning people because they only knew how to condo clean, surface clean. I want my home cleaned as I clean. It takes longer than a couple of hours to clean a home!!

Also, my thoughts on lawn care. My opinion is.. we have enough of the "blow and go" lawn care companies. It took me a while to find someone who would spend time in my yard, weed, prune, fertilize, basically noticing things that needed to be done without me pointing them out. He has taken care of 5 homes in my neighborhood, all together (side by side), and everyone notices and remarks that our lawns always look so good. I feel fortunate to have him and have no problem with what he charges me.

Who is your landscaping company and are they looking to expand?
