The Scenic 30A Corridor Advocacy Group will meet Thursday, August 17, at 5 pm at the Walton County Tourist Development Council offices on U.S. 98 at U.S. 331 in Santa Rosa Beach. All interested citizens are asked to join this effort.

Rory Cassedy, Government Affairs Manager from Waste Management, Inc. will discuss trash management, trash pickups and the future of trash removal at this meeting.

Cassedy says, "I want to address the need for additional service to meet the growing demand and how Waste Management can continue to provide the level of serve to parallel the impact to the area. Environmental Services are overlooked and sometimes even taken for granted and with the Corridor Advocacy Group, the County Commissioners, and the citizens all continuing to being proactive we can modify the service to improve the aesthetics and quality of service."

The Scenic 30A Corridor Advocacy Group continues to meet to follow the process to attain Florida Scenic Highway designation for Walton's County Road 30A. The group has received training with the Florida Department of Transportation, and is preparing a Corridor Management Plan that will coordinate the intrinsic scenic, natural, recreational, historical, archeological and cultural resources that are found along the corridor. It is a grass-roots effort that requires involvement and participation from all stakeholders along the route to be successful.
