    Thanks Bob!

You know what? I do love a Chick Fil A Sandwich, but I've gotten very attached to Red Bar's Paneed Chicken Sandwich over the years, so I am all good!

But, maybe I will try this recipe. It looks delicious!

I'm an Atlanta girl. I've met Truett Cathy many times and have eaten at the Dwarf House in Hapeville many times since I was a kid when he was working behind the counter because the original restaurant is near where some of my cousins grew up. Mr. Cathy is a kind, well-meaning person. Many people like him (he has lots of honorary doctorates), and a lot of his employees who go to Mom's church near the CFA headquarters believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible. I don't agree with that interpretation (which is why I'm no longer a Baptist), but they contribute a lot of money to churches and other charities. Too bad that contributions were made to "anti" causes.

That being said, the McDonald's Southern Classic Chicken Sandwich is a close second to the CFA sandwich. I don't know what my substitute for their strip salad will be. No way I'm going to the trouble to fry chicken in grease. Hey, Iris, I guess it'll be Big Chic for us!

Brining is the key to any good chicken dish!!
I have not eaten at a CFA in 10 YEARS...they are never in convenient places anyway. I love the Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich...guilty pleasure
The only thing I have to add is, if I had been frequenting CFA, I would not be doing so now.

Sadly, even though I have known many members of the CFA family for decades, I will go along with my daughter and son-in-law and not eat at CFA.

I am reminded of the opening ceremony of the Olympics. Everyone marches as a herd in their own uniforms with their own flags. We cheer for people we don't even know based upon a flag. ChickFilA has chosen to alienate an entire segment of our population unknown to them based upon a book. It's beyond all logic or compassion.

No, it has to do more with the 1st Amendment than any "anti" movement. BTW, I just returned from Destin where I had a spicy deluxe ChickFilA sandwich. It was delicious and the first one I've tried in many years. My wife had chicken tenders and they were also very good. The service was outstanding considering the tremendous crowd they had. I think we will go back...soon.

I had a wonderful chef salad with an ice tea in the comforts of my home. Much healthier for my body and mind than eating fast food and dealing with the traffic going to Destin.....

Plus, I would prefer to spend my dollars on the local SoWal establishments when I do go out for a meal instead of a franchise....

You poor people who depend on fast food chicken.None compare to brining the chic, dip in buttermilk , coat with flour and fry in cast iron skillet.

pre·ten·tious (pr-tnshs) adj. 1. Claiming or demanding a position of distinction or merit, especially when unjustified.
    2. Making or marked by an extravagant outward show; ostentatious. See Synonyms at showy.

Chic-Fil-A has one of the best products in the fast food business. It's tasty and the service is always good. It bothers me that the management of this company are "haters", but it probably won't affect my decision when I feel like eating good fried chicken.
My mind tends to wander... but fortunately, it's so weak, it doesn't get very far...

This is not a constitutional issue/ first amendment issue. Nobody is making them close their business because of their beliefs- Chick-Fil-A can operate as many stores as they want to- I don't really care. The government is not involved. People are choosing to spend or not spend money there based on what they now know about where the profits are going. I personally choose not to fund groups whose goals are to limit the civil rights of certain groups to live life as I do, and if I can avoid spending money in businesses whose profits are going out to such groups, I will.

From the pictures I have seen in the news of the Chick-Fil-A supporters, many of them might want to step away from the fast food scene altogether. I don't understand choosing to support an anti-gay business over eating something healthier (and lower calorie!). I'm just sayin'.....

All in all this issue has been quite entertaining. I feel like I am on the team that has the most fun in these situations!

On Tuesday Georgians passed an amendment that life begins at conception. What that means is that morning after pills, internal IUDs, invitro fertilization, and abortion rights are at risk. I don't believe in abortion as contraception. But many women like me had/have no chance of having a baby without invitro. It's bad enough that many health insurance companies pay for Viagra when a male's reproductive organs don't work properly, but not for infertility meds and treatment when a female's reproductive organs don't work properly. And now it may become illegal in GA to do invitro.

I know this is a tangent, but a lot more women are affected by laws controlling their uteri than the Chick-Fil-A debacle affects a smaller segment of the poplulation. I am not going to give my business to Chick-Fil-A, but that is trivial in my opinion as compared to what this new GA amendment has the potential of doing to all GA women's reproductive rights.

    Sandwich or child?

Meh! This is chicken, and nothing more. I don't care how well it's been brined, it's still just cluckin' chicken. If this were steak, lobster, shrimp, my favorite alcoholic beverage, Cheetos (crunchy) or Snickers bars, there might be a moral dilemma. Chicken??? Give me a cluckin' break!

Where's the Christian rage over this racist issue? Why isn't Mike Huckabee on FB and Fox raising hell that this is wrong and demanding a strong march on the church to show that the Christian Nation won't tolerate this type of behavior???? Did I miss the public statement from Rev. Graham or Mr. Cathy condemning such behavior as immoral and against family values?

I guess gay marriage is the vogue hot politricks and more important to attack than racism by a church....

I have, in the past, eaten at three different Chick Fil As here in my end of town. The service is excellent and quick. There is one overwhelming distinction in the help. The employees are 100 percent white. The managers are no doubt hiring from the segregated church ranks. I predict Chick Fil A will draw down a massive discrimination lawsuit in their quest to stay in the 1950s.

Some lead, more follow.Shame the leaders didn't lead more followers to feed the hungry. There is more than enough predjudice in the world now and and all this chicken clucking did was further line the pockets of an already wealthy person.Hope some of the wealth was spread to the less fortunate.
