Vincent Vega and Jules at Publix

So today we were totally chillin'. Hubby has been in Europe on business for a couple of weeks and still has jet lag (due to driving 1700 km while there due to visit small towns for manufacturing equipment). His jet lag has disturbed my sleep. We decided we wanted to cook ribs on the 4th for us, our daughter, and her hubby. So that meant driving to Publix. We looked rough after sleep deprivation -- I looked like Vincent Vega, and he looked like Jules after Quenton Tarantino hosed them down and dressed them in athletic shorts and logo t-shirts. Know that scene? We thought we'd make a stealth visit to Publix and get the heck out of there. One problem. Someone t-boned the passenger side of our SUV on the way to Publix. Hokay, so we're ONE BLOCK from the police station, and it took them 15 minutes to get there. What the what? We sort of hid behind our vehicle to avoid being seen looking like Vincent and Jules. It took for.ev.er. for the police officer to complete the report. Finally we were on our way to Publix. Bought groceries. Got the heck outta there.

Like Vincent and Jules, we stayed cool and had divine intervention in that we're not in the hospital tonight.

Soooo, did you think they were just sitting around drinking coffee, waiting for your call?

No, they were trying to give out speeding tickets. Seriously, the vehicles were blocking a lane of traffic, so you'd think they'd try to clear it out. There's no shoulder there to pull over onto.
