I was given to understand that the ordinance was to cover the dune lakes. Part of Powell Lake is in Walton Cty.

Our daughter's old boyfriend had two Sea Doo's. We launched them near the bridge on 331. But it wasn't very fun. No bathroom amenities. It wasn't worth the trouble to unload and reload the trailer. He didn't bring them again.

One reason we built a garage is to house a boat. But South Walton is boat unfriendly, as evidenced by the paltry number of boats that one sees when crossing the 331 bridge. There are boat-friendly areas in the Panhandle, but we decided to buy in South Walton because the positives of 30A (among them no 4-lane highway beachside) outweighed the few negatives (no marina and limited boating opportunities). We don't regret that decision at all.

There is a free public boat launch on 393 North that one could use.

Not sure what you mean by not being boat friendly? There are several public launching areas in Sowal. Cessna Landing, 393 and Pt. Washington to name three. Regarding a Marina, you have Baytowne Marina.
