Advice needed -- (solid-construction) vacation rental furniture
Can everyone share their personal opinion about where to find the best quality vacation rental furniture for the money around the PCB/DESTIN 30A area. We are completely furnishing our new 3 bedroom house.
Within the next few weeks we are purchasing a full/twin bunk - twin w/trundle - queen bed - bedroom dressers/nightstands - full size sofa sleeper - Hall tree/storage bench - dinette set for (4) - TV entertainment stand - bar stools (2).
Any help would be appreciated greatly!
Thanks!

I contacted Richard Liles Furniture based on a recommendation listed in http://Sowal.com. I can say Richard is prompt, and polite and a very kind. He even came a few blocks over to take a peek at what I had to work with. Even though Richard may be a awesome guy, once I told him that I was shopping around and working with other local designers - his willingness to help me went right down the tubes and quickly cut off our dealings. Even though I think he is very nice guy.....business is business.
I do believe Richard can provide people with excellent furniture for the price.
He just made me feel like I was doing something wrong by being honest with him and telling him I was shopping around to compare pricing. He even told me if he would have known from the start I was talking other designers, he would have not wasted any of his time with me because he just has too much business to be wasting time.. ..and doesn't need the money.
Usually being honest pays off ....but remember you have to look out for yourself, so if your shopping for the best prices keep it to yourself until the end.....then go with the dealer who you believe has helped, and provided the best furniture for the price!
I called Richard to discuss the way I felt and he listened. He gave some pretty good reasons why he doesn't like to work with people who "shops around" and it sounded pretty up and up and highly ethical of him. On the other hand if his way of doing business came true, the consumer would not be living in a "free market" and would be controlled by the dealer.
I am rating this dealing with Richard Liles Furniture a 3 out of 5 because I was not able to move forward with him due to him being so concerned about stepping on other local furniture retailers. Which I guess this is something if your a furniture dealer you would highly respect....but if your a customer you highly hate!

yo never ever tell a person you're shopping around. tell all of them what you want and let them all give you prices. take all the bids and compare. its just like if you need a new roof.i'm the shopper of all shoppers.when i buy a car i use the net and pit 10 dealers against each other. heres what you do. you don't need a interior decorator.the cheapest store anymore is rooms to go. they have a huge one in destin. you can buy the wholeroom for each room in the house. they have all the rooms set ip in the store to see. i bought my family room package from there and have it 10 yrs later. its fair furniture and cheap. the best furniture for the money bar none and its awesome is costco. its awesome quality and incredibly priced

Remember when comparison shopping to add in fees. A friend found that once you add in delivery costs and fees for RTG they are actually more expensive.

The reviews I've heard of Rooms to Go lately (ie. since the Destin store opened) describe it as overpriced for the quality you get.

I 100% disagree. if you call a whole bedroom suite or a whole family room set for $1700AND YOU GETA 60 INCH PLASMA FOR FREE EXPENSIE THEN IT IS i agree the furniture isn't the best but its good for rental. just threw the family toom set away ever 5-7 yrs

OK I have been all over the area and taking an entire week to look everywhere. I have decided the best place to deal with is Donna Callahan from Sandcastle furniture. She took her time to come over and sit down to go over what I need and what she can supply me with from Sandcastle furniture. She even was completely honest about prices and told me to get somethings from J. Miller Furniture and Factory Direct Furniture in PCB. To be honest out of any place and I have shopped them all now. Factory Direct Furniture in PCB is a great place to check out. There full size sofa sleepers are 799 and the nearest other lowest price for the same was 1120 at Sugar Beach Interiors.. I believe in quality and thats why I am either buying Liberty, Bassett, or Wynwood pieces of furniture. Its been a real big challenge to find good furniture places. On average I am spending about 1800 per room for solid furniture. Someone suggested rooms to-go...I inspected some of there bedroom suites and it didn't meet my fingernail scratch test....most of there stuff is laminates over particle board and just felt cheap.
I can say if you haven't been to Panama City Beach on Hwy 98 to check out Factory Direct Furniture, you better stop in there and look at some of there items. If you want a person who is more than fair and never will judge you for honesty go with Donna Callahan from Sandcastle....she is awesome, creative and will give you honest input without making you feel bad about being a commoner and shopping around. If I owned a business Donna is the kind of person I would hire. Richard Lyle's furniture apparently has too little time and makes too much money to try to help a commoner like me - which still hurts and his words will stick with me a lifetime.
Soon I will be spending 8k-9k on just furniture for our entire home and to a police officer making an honest living thats a lot of money!
