Just in from Central Square Records:

Record Store Day is quickly approaching, are you ready for the best music day of the year?! Saturday, April 21st, is the day, and we will have a boatload of exclusive releases, we’ll offer giveaways (totebags, label samplers, &c), and we’ll host live music throughout the day. We have confirmed critically-acclaimed singer/songwriter Daphne Willis, and our local phenoms the Owsley Brothers for in-store performances, and we’ll announce more as we get closer. This is our 4th year to celebrate Record Store Day, and we welcome our return customers, as well as newcomers, it will be an amazing party! Mark your calendar, and get here early, we will open at 8am! Here’s a link to the official Record Store Day site, to see what is being released and other details. Happy Record Store Day to all!

Exclusive releases include vinyl pressings of Widespread Panic's 'Live Wood 2012', Phish's debut, 'Junta' on 3 LPs, and a vinyl box set of rare Memphis soul, 'Never To Be Forgotten: The Flip Side of Stax 1968-74', to name a few. It will be a great day to celebrate your local independent music store at Central Square Records!
