    DeFuniak woman claims $1 million in lotto win

    The Florida Lottery today announced that Carol Dixon, 70, of DeFuniak Springs, claimed the $1 million MEGA MONEY jackpot from the Sept. 30, 2011, drawing. The winning numbers were 4-10-22-42 and the MEGABALL was 3.

    Dixon chose the one-time, lump-sum payment option for her winnings, in the amount of $805,676.50. She purchased her winning MEGA MONEY ticket at Ritz Food Store, located at 435 Highway 90 West in DeFuniak Springs. The retailer will receive a bonus commission of $1,000. Total ticket sales for this top prize generated more than $1.2 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
