No matter the weather, being in Sowal is better
... than anywhere. This week has been relaxing with the rain. If you're here for just a week, that would be a bummer, but there are always tanning beds. I love walking on the beach in the rain and getting into the warm Gulf. There are so many things to enjoy here. Just reading and hearing the rain drops hit the roof, watching the spectacular lightening shows, seeing beautiful sunsets, dining at great restaurants, etc. ... all are great experiences.
I love wearing a sweatshirt and walking on the beach in January. I love it here in every season (actually fall first, spring second, winter third, and summer last).
Of course there are three continents I've missed -- Africa, South America (hubby hates it -- he's required to use a driver just to go to a restaurant one block away for security reasons), and Antarctica (sorry, I'm not paying to be cold). So I can't comment on whether or not those continents are better.
That being said, do you agree that SoWal is just awesome?

Absolutely awesome!!!! Being in SoWal makes me so happy, so calm, so content. That's why I am there all the time-in my mind.

I know too. I've got the wrinkles to prove I spent way too many hours in the sun over the years, but I still like the "look" of a tan. Too bad they can't perfect the fake ones.

SoWal is still heaven on earth to me. So many months of the year, it's very quiet - except when those chirping frogs start singing in concert and then stop singing in concert just as quickly as they started. Sunsets that take my breath away, porches that make the livin' easy, food that makes me cry, and wonderful people to share the sunsets, porches, and good food with. After 8 years having a place in SoWal, there's still so much I haven't explored here - and I'm in no hurry because I'm hoping for many more years in SoWal with plenty of time to explore and savor everything very, very slowly!
