Nicks On The Beach Seafood Restaurant

Looked everywhere for some reviews of the new Nicks, but found none. We decided to go anyhow. I admit, I think of it to scratch my fried itch!
The place looks great, service was excellent. Most of their old staff is back, and the price still good. We both went with fried shrimp, good food, good service and good price.
Not many places around here still feel local, but this one does....

Nicks is one of my favorites!!! So happy to have it back in the hood. We've already celebrated a few birthdays in there... always such fun.

I'm soooo excited to try Nick's this summer, as well as Louie Louie! Speaking of, any other newer places I should know about?

Nick's on the Beach is in Blue Mountain on top of the hill. The original, Nick's in the Sticks is on the other side of the bay on 20 in Basin Bayou...

I was actually disappointed when I went to Nick's about two weeks after they re-opened. Mullet was the fish of the day. It is actually what I went there to get. As the fish of the day, it was $18.00, but I had a hankering for it and ordered it anyway. They actually served me tilefish, but swore it was mullet. They offered to let me come back to the kitchen to confirm it was mullet, then changed their mind, said it was tilefish and apologized.

Maybe they have ironed out the wrinkles since their relaunch, but I think I will stick to the Basin Bayou location. Always great mullet there.
