Deodorants that don't make white marks?

Now that I've started one girly thread, there's another girly problem that's bugging me.

Anyone know of a deodorant that truly doesn't make white marks that show up whenever you put on dark-colored clothing? I try to be so careful when putting on, say, a black T-shirt, yet no matter how hard I try, I usually get a white streak that I've got to wipe off with a wet washcloth.

Those ghostly half-moons are one of my pet peeves, too. I love Clinique roll-on deoderant, but it is bad to do this. Before leaving my bathroom, I always give each underarm a swipe with a towel to brush away this powdery residue. Works fine and I can use any deoderant I want.

There was a commercial on TV last night about that. Supposedly Dove won't leave white marks.

Looks like we can try if for free to see if it really delivers what it promises.

Lady Speed Stick has a clear gel. That is what I buy and use. Love it!

The Sam's Club near us alot of times has the Lady Speed Stick 4 pack that is the clear gel deodorant/anti-perspirant for a little under $7.00. But right now they are carrying the Secret clear gel deodorant/anti-perspirant 3-pack for under $7.00. And believe it or not, my husband won't use anything but the Lady Speed Stick clear gel himself. We get the powder fresh.

I heart Dove. I've used it for years and will continue until I just don't care anymore.

I use Almay....it squirts up through holes and never leaves residue and I never even glow...unless I have a flash or drink wine.

I heart Dove too. I've used Secret but now I think I'm allergic to it. It's such an individual thing, what works for one may not work for another.

i love dove too--nothing and i mean nothing is effective in keeping me from sweating though. . .oh well--i just usually go sleeveless in the summer and try to keep my arms down as much as possible!!

BEACHRUNNER--here's a little trick for you on the deoderant stains--rub the shirt together where the stain is--that usually gets it to go away better than anything else. . .
a little something i learned from Teen People and MTV's House of Style MANY years ago! :)
I should have the sand out of my panties by then. . .I'll be there!! --anonymous

Thanks for the tip. I bought Dove Ultimate Clear. Publix didn't have Lady Speed Stick Clear Gel (just Clear Solid) or Secret Invisible Gel (just Invisible Solid).

The worse part is that I'll know exactly what you're talking about! If we see anyone with white marks on their clothes we'll automatically know they're not keeping up with Lounge posts...

The Lady Speed Stick gel has holes in the top and you twist the bottom and it comes up through the holes. I don't sweat either, just don't want the white on my dark tops that I wear. Nor does my husband.

This is timely- in our newspaper today--

Don't get cought dead with deodorant marks on your favorite black tank! The "Gal Pal Deodorant Removers" remove those ghastly white chalky marks without chemicals. Simply wipe with the grain of the garment to remove the stain.

Back in the day, when I used to get dressed up to go to work. I kept a stash of old pantyhose. They worked great for getting rid of deoderant marks. Worked like a charm!

I need that as it ended up on the side of one of my best dresses about 6 inches above my knee. It was a pullover dress. What a mess. Wouldn't come out. I need to get some gal-pal deodorant remover.

Re: Deodorants that don't make white marks?

This thread reminds me of an adolescent night in the summer of 1962. The first night my Mom decided it was time for deoderant was the first night she also introduced me to a training bra. I went to a little league baseball game slathered up in Ice Blue Secret deoderant, which was melting all down my sides and a scratchy training bra from Sears that gave me a horrid rash. The flower of youth, melting and scratching on the bleachers, while the Service Pharmacy team lorded it over the American Legion sluggers. Mercy  .
