    Exploring and Enjoying Local Coastal Dune Lakes
    Julie Terrell (CBA) & Brooke Saari (Marine Science Extension)

    Get up-close and personal with Walton County’s Coastal Dune Lakes. Classes will offer classroom type instruction, guided tours, and on-site discussion about different topics focused on coastal dune lakes. Topics will include: What is a coastal dune lake?, coastal morphology, water quality of coastal dune lakes, human impacts to coastal dune lakes, exotic/invasive species, and preservation areas involving coastal dune lakes. Field trips will include visits to some of the lakes with guided tours ranging from the dunes at the outfall of a lake to descriptive history of the area, to investigating human impacts on the lakes. Maximum 20 students.

    Tuesdays 9:30AM–11:30AM
    July 27, August 3, August 10

    1st Class will meet at the South Walton Center in Room 119
    Registration Fee - $30.00

    This is a continuing ed course. Register at any Northwest Florida State College office.
