This Wednesday night, join The Merchants of Seaside for another great performance as part of the Seaside Summer Concert Series. This week, Seaside welcomes MEM SHANNON & THE MEMBERSHIP to the Amphitheater on July 21st at 7PM!

Mem Shannon & The Membership are from New Orleans and while their music is rooted in the blues, it's soaked to the bone in Big Easy syncopation, dripping and oozing with funk. They've been a staple at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival for the past 15 years and Mem has won countless "Best Of" awards for Louisiana music and national blues - including being recognized as Offbeat Magazine’s Blues Band of the Year.

Yes, hence my desire to hear it!

And it's a REALLY good song: This “funny little song” as Mem calls it about S.O.B.s who drive S.U.V.s earned the distinction of being Living Blues Magazine’s Critics’ Poll Song of the Year. It earned a W. C. Handy nomination for Best Song of The Year and was included in National Public Radio’s compilation Car Talk – Born Not to Run.
