Happy Easter to everyone!
Hey, Mermaid, I took your advice and used Baker's Joy for the pan for my Easter lemon pound cake. Awesome! So much easier than greasing and flouring.

we'll have all that, in addition to the "i don't want to go to work monday" people who invent illnesses to get a dr's excuse. some people do more work trying to get out of work than if they would just work in the first place !

Happy Easter! Hope everyone's morning is as glorious as ours is here in Louisville. It is beautiful. Just got up and yes, the Bunny was here.
Yesterday the Bunny brought us Mermaid and Merman- (who are still sleeping somehow in this noisy house!) AND they brought me a huge Trader Joe's bag stuffed with of all kinds of goodies! Including the yummy coffee I am drinking now. The best Easter basket ever! Mermaid also brought THE sandcastle pan, and we are making the cake and decorating it with Easter candy later this a.m. Kate was wondering if Mermaid had a tail, but I explained to her that on land, she has legs!

Happy Easter to all my SoWal friends!
We've just gotten back from a perfect weekend at with jdarg and family and yes, the travelling sandcastle Bundt cake made yet another appearance, much to the delight of youngest Darg Daughter who made hay of all the turrets. Ate them right off. I polished off the moat made of Jelly Belly jelly beans.
It was a wonderful Easter mini-vacation for us!!!

Re: happy easter ....
Kate is a little stunner. Jdarg, your very first avatar was just precious. Glad you had a wonderful Easter visit. Happy Easter to all!
We are in SoWal with lots of family piled in with us and had a wonderful day. We went to the Easter service at Rosemary (thanks for the tip CCK) and the post-service egg hunt. It was a beautiful morning and the service was very appropriate for the setting. All the kids ate too much candy, crashed from their sugar high, and we got them up to go to the Red Bar very early so we could snag some of the remaining crab cakes. Saw the Conch Out on the way over. Went to the beach for sunset afterward. This is what Easter should be all about.

Nice catch Jdarg! I love the tulips at Churchill Downs. We are gearing up for Derby and spring. They had the parkway blocked off for one of the races this weekend. I certainly do agree with you about the celebrities. When I was younger the Derby drew in big name celebrities. I used to love checking it out. Not so much anymore. It wounds like you had the best celebrities this weekend with the Mers. Hope you all had funn. Glad the weather was nice for their visit.

Re: happy easter ....
did all of the above. met jim and gina and hit 395 at around 10:30. did from suzanne lane up to watercolor, and then from lower forrest access road both north and south. i opted for the cigarette butts. so basically i was stooped over the entire time, until around 1:45. got a lot of garbage picked up around 15 big bags, and i filled up two grocery bags with just butts. i was quite demoralized by the time we called it quits. seems most smokers are of the opinion that throwing butts out the window is not littering, and that the butts are out of sight, out of mind. nasty. i guess they don't care what they're doing to their bodies, so it surely doesn't matter what they're doing to the planet. quite selfish in my estimation.

HH had just taken a break as i pulled up, so got to visit a bunch. music resumed and got to listen to some before leaving almost too late for light. grabbed this on the way back:

On another note, the other day, on my annual trip over to Destin, I pulled up beside a taxi van and noticed a lady in the passenger seat smoking. Nothing unusual to see, right? Then, on the window immediately behind her, I notice a big orange no smoking sticker. I tried to grab my camera for a photo, but I was too late.

Re: happy easter ....
If only the demons were not calling from inside, that would be easy. I am not a smoker, but I need my caffeine just the same. I know more people who would like to quit smoking than people who actually do quit for good. Nicotene, like caffeine, is a powerful drug. Most smokers whom I know would love to stop.

Re: happy easter ....
i too applaud those who use their ashtrays or pocket the butts. and i'm aware the addiction is so strong, with all the chemicals the tobacco companies are allowed to deliver. but, i really just don't get it. honestly i do, i've beat my own addictions, and when you need that fix, nothing will stand in your way. but littering i can't fathom. it's embarrassing that some of us care so little for our surroundings. i must guess that litterers never leave the car, they just drive everywhere. i'm sure they don't bike, or hike.
the car we were in yesterday was a honda element, no ashtray
sold only to non smokers?
