Shoo Mama's Bar & Grill [Now Open]
I noticed the new signage for Shoo Mama's Bar & Grill (old Jambone's location) on hwy. 98 this weekend. Does anyone have any information regarding this place? (Menu, opening date, etc.)

Shoo Mamas will be a restaurant, open 11a-11pm, serving lunch and dinner. No late night partying, but they will have a bar. Talked to Shoo Mama yesterday and he says they are waiting on the permits. Should be opening soon. Haven't seen the menu yet.

Shoo Mama's Opening
To clarify, the blue awning is actually left over from the Jambone space. A new awning is on order and will match the Shoo Mama's sign.
The restaurant is nearing completion and should be open in the next few weeks. Rumor has it that the Grand Opening will take place on Wednesday, July 7th, but this has not been confirmed...
I'm looking forward to it. as well!

Glad to hear construction is moving along. It seems like managing to catch the summer crowds that first year can really make a difference in whether a new restaurant makes it.

I'm excited about a new spot!

More details about Shoo Mamas!
The Shoo Mamas concept is exactly what the local community wants... good food, reasonable prices, a comfortable atmosphere, and staff with a service-oriented mentality.
The owner has experience in the restaurant business here for 15 years, and the menu has been developed with the most popular local flavors in mind.
There will be plenty of seafood dishes. The restaurant decor supports this theme, but it is nicely done - a significant improvement over the old Jambone space!
A wall has been dedictated to display photos of local fishermen and their most proud catches or moments. So, if you like to fish, bring your photo!!
For landlubbers, there will be a good selection of chicken and meat dishes, as well. Something for everyone...
Live music is expected on certain nights, but I do not have confirmation of the schedule. There are flat screen TVs in a section of the dining area and above the bar with satellite service, so it will be a great place to watch an event and have a beer or cocktail.
I'll report more information as I have it, but July 7th appears to be the date of the Grand Opening. Stay tuned...

Update on Shoo Mamas
Shoo Mamas is nearly ready to roll...
The "soft" opening will be this Monday, June 28th, which will allow the staff to get comfortable with the menu and acquainted with the space.
The Grand Opening is scheduled for Thursday, July 8th. Members of Hubba Hubba and Dread Clampit (Hubba Clampit) will be the featured entertainment! As if great food and service weren't enough!
The restaurant has come together nicely and the team that owner, Lucas Sidrony, has assembled is casual but professional.
See you there!

Good Luck to you Lucas! We are excited about the opening and can't wait!

Did anyone go to the soft opening last night?
-
A friend asked me to go but Tim Hudson and the Strausburg kid were locked up in a pitching duel. I didn't want to get away from the game.
I think the heat got to the kid. Great game.
Will try and get by this week.

I had lunch there. Good bowl of gumbo and a nice burger. They still have a few kinks to work out (which is precisely why they did the soft opening) but I am excited about them being here and look forward to my next visit.

Wonderful dinner tonight. We told Lucas that he needs to make the cioppino a regular menu item- loaded with seafood and one of the best cioppinos ever, a special treat since we never see this on a menu around here!
Our friend confirmed the superiority of the fish taco- best in SoWal. Hands down. All fresh, crunchy, and delicious.
I had the salad with grilled shrimp- had to look for the lettuce under all the yummy shrimp.
Best part? Happy hour M-F. Half-price bottles of wine with 2 entrees. No brainer.
Thank you Lucas and Shoo Mama's!
