    Favorite Snorkeling Spots

Wondering where some good snorkeling spots are (besides busy crab island in Destin). We plan to rent kayaks and will attempt to snorkel at the second sand bar...but I want something in shallow, calm water as well for the little ones. I know the jetties at St. Andrews are recommended but I have a feeling they'll be busy. Any bay side spots that are maybe hidden and only accessible by boat? (Shell Island?)
I'm debating on whether to rent a pontoon near St. Andrews or further down some at St. Joseph Bay. I've read the flats there are good for snorkeling and they look shallow enough to let my younger boys try.

Anyhow, if you could chose between the two state parks for snorkeling, boating, swimming, etc. which one would you choose?

    Thanks!

We rented a pontoon over spring break at the St Andrew's park and it was the best vacation we had in quite some time! =) If you rent there the rental people will tell you where to go for good spots. We found oodles of shells and snorkeled for a long time without a lot of people around. It was amazing. Found a lot of starfish and sand dollars. It was worth every penny spent on the rental.
