Anyone know where I can keep a Horse?

Hello,

I have been looking high and low for some horse property.

We have 1 horse and 1 pony. I don't breed horses or have a training clientele etc. We just have some laid back lawn ornaments that we like to take for a ride on the weekends.

I would need at a minimum 2 acres but would perfer 5. My husband works in Panama City at the Navy base so we are trying to move closer to his work.

We have been looking at a place called the Stables at Sandy Pines up in Bruce but it is a 45 min drive to work. We were looking for something a bit closer.

I have seen much wetlands with acreage in the south end but, just maybe there is someone out there that knows of something that might fit our needs.

We checked out the 5 acres off of Thompson Dr. and there is a huge lake that is a good part of the 5 acres. Plus Thompson is a super busy road.

We checked out the lising of 7 acres in Point Washington for $600,000 and that is a messed up debacle because the owner paid 2,600,000 and it is not a forclosure yet.

I have looked at boarding them and living in the south end but that is an additional $300-400 a month in board and driving to feed and take care of them.

My daughter has a horse farm north of Panama City off 231 and is boarding horses. I am sure she could work something out for you to board and feed them for a very reasonable fee. She has a large barn, 25 acres of pasture, and a lighted arena. And she does trail rides in the Ecofina Water Management Preserve, so there is some wonderful riding in that area. I can put you in contact with her if you would like.
