    Wine over Water 2010 at Carillon – Wine Tastings, Food, Art and Entertainment



    This weekend, March 12th -14th 2010, Carillon Beach is going to be hosting Wine over Water – a new and exciting annual weekend event. All weekend long you can enjoy local artists displaying their work, great food and wine from area restaurants, and live music on Market Street. Local talent will include this year’s featured artist Dominique Williams. Here’s the schedule of events:

    FRIDAY, MARCH 12th
    6:00 pm – Winemaker Dinner: Private wine dinner served in the Carillon Ballroom, with cocktail hour beginning at 6pm and followed by dinner at 7pm. Sumptuous five course tasting menu, each matched with its perfect wine accompaniment. Food and wine provided by Dine by Design Catering and John Mazzonovich of Opici Wine Company. $100 per ticket.

    SATURDAY, MARCH 13th

    ALL DAY: Enjoy local artists displaying their work and live music on Carillon’s Market Street.
    10:00 am – Wine Sales Begin
    11:00 am – Local Chef Cook-Off: Watch local chefs perform in a culinary exhibition in an outdoor kitchen set up under the Culinary Showcase Tent. FREE!
    1:00 pm – Tommy Ward of Buddy Ward and Sons: From the state’s largest oyster region, Apalachicola, FL, lifelong oyster farmer Tommy Ward will teach you all you ever wanted to know about oysters and more, not to mention prepare some of the best tasting oysters you’ve ever had in your life! FREE!
    2:00 pm-5:00 pm – Grand Wine Tasting: Enjoy over 50 wines served on Carillon’s Market Street. $40 per ticket.
    3:00 pm – Wine & Food Pairing: Chef Jim Shirley of Great Southern Cafe and School of Fish – as well as one of the area’s leading sommeliers – will perform an interactive demonstration of wine pairings followed by a Q&A session. FREE!
    4:00 pm – Ice Carving: Watch as Chef Billie Redd of Gulf Coast Community College’s Culinary Department demonstrates his techniques! FREE!
    5:00 pm – Wine Tasting Ends
    6:00 pm – Wine Sales Close


    SUNDAY, MARCH 14th
    ALL DAY: Enjoy local artists displaying their work and live music on Carillon’s Market Street.
    10:00 am – 2:00 pm – Walkabout Brunch: Enjoy local fare on Market Street from favorite area restaurants paired with champagnes from around the globe. $25 per ticket.
