I don't get the rocks. The pool looks like it should be in Las Vegas.

Re: Photos - Mar 09 2006 - Cypress Breeze pool
I agree with you CCK. Or somewhere in LA. It just looks so out of place for the area!!!!!!

Actually, the pool blends in quite nicely with the neighborhood.
The design theme of this neighborhood is catch as catch can........
You have everything from little southern cottages to huge Destinesque stuccos to typical Florida "West Indie" homes to Rosemary type estates.........it's a neighborhood in search of an identity.

I like it!! Looks like there would be water falls flowing from the rocks..boy do I need a vacation!
-
Re: Photos - Mar 09 2006 - Cypress Breeze pool
Is that a real swim up bar under the falls? How delightfully 1977!
-
Re: Photos - Mar 09 2006 - Cypress Breeze pool
I do not know of a swim up bar, but the pool is huge, and what you see in my photos is maybe about half of the pool. It is slightly larger than the big pool at Seacrest, and now the largest in SoWal. I heard there were going to be 3 waterfalls into the pool. It may look out of place, but I guarantee you the kids staying in the homes here, will not care about a beach.

Re: Photos - Mar 09 2006 - Cypress Breeze pool
That is so Hugh Hefner Playboy grotto. Amazing. A pool bigger than Seacrest? Maybe? Hmm?

Re: Photos - Mar 09 2006 - Cypress Breeze pool
That pool is way over-the-top. I can just see the droves of kids begging their parents to rent a cottage there, only for the pool. It's a fantastic kid magnet.
Does Cyress Breeze have any plans for a more normal, more adult pool or is this the one and only?Dolce far niente

My thoughts exactly, jdarg. Why pool it when you have the ocean, unless of course there is alot of seaweed.

I know, I know, but I'm not one of those parents. I am the type that deliberately looks for a place without a pool. I always hated pool>beach>pool>beach, back and forth. We can swim in a pool in Kentucky. Ocean all the way.

The 14,400-square-foot lagoon pool at Cypress Breeze Plantation almost overwhelms the first-time visitor, but when a gentle breeze combines with the spray from one of the waterfalls the cooling sensation makes the pool the place to be.
“It was always our intention to make it a focal point, a centerpiece,” NFC Development Inc. senior vice president Henry De Varona said of the pool. “We didn’t want to be like other developments with a flat pool.”
By comparison, the Seacrest Beach pool, previously touted as the largest pool in South Walton is 12,000 square feet.
The Cypress Breeze project’s price tag jumped from $1.5 million to $4.5 million during the development. The pool development team included De Varona, NFC vice president Wayne Adkinson, Jeff Prescott and Jimbo Patterson.
“We just kept going and added this, and then someone suggested ‘wouldn’t this be neat’ and we added that and it grew,” De Varona said.
An elevator whisks visitors to a 3,000-square-foot multi-level observation deck for an overview of the three interconnecting pools with 10 waterfalls and the 100-acre property that includes 40 acres preserved in a natural state.
Cypress Breeze Plantation is a gated community off County Road 393, within walking distance of Gulf Place and Ed Walline Regional Beach Access.
NFC Development held a grand opening there on July 27 to show off the pool and kick off the sale of 103 lots. Additional lots are in development for phase four and should be completed next month, De Varona said.
De Varona, who lives in Cypress Breeze, said he hoped the homeowner’s association would consider renting out the pool for public events. With 180 others to decide, De Varona couldn’t guarantee that one day the pool would be available to the rest of the community, but he suggested “it would be a wonderful source of income.”

Not counting DeVarona--what do you think the market is for individuals over the age of 10 who want to own a home in a public water park
