    Goodbye hurricane season 2009

Today marks the end of the hurricane season in the Atlantic Basin. The 2009 season featured two depressions and nine tropical storms. Three of the tropical storms became hurricanes. Two of those hurricanes were major hurricanes. On average 11 named tropical storms occur during the hurricane season with 6 reaching hurricane strength and two of those become a category 3 or higher.

Another mild year for the panhandle. I think some of us are starting to relax a bit, while others still have Post Hurricane Sttress Disorder and I feel for them.

I'm just kind of bummed about the early freezing weather. I've got a couple of citrus trees that seem like they'd just take off like crazy with a milder winter or two.
