    My weekend in hell

Up early Saturday morning. Fixed breakfast for Jackson. I thought.."oh boy, FINALLY a free day". No house showings, no cleaning, just a day to spend the way I want. Sunkist came over and before going to a purse show, we went to Einstein Bros. for pumpkin/pumpkin bagels and Jackson had his second breakfast. Purse show was good. We each got a purse and headed back to Grapevine. Jackson was pretty bored, so we decided to get lunch and have a picnic at the park. Twenty minutes into our time, phone rings. A showing in 30 minutes! I pushed them back an hour and headed for home to do the make ready. Sweated my ass off before discovering that Mr. DD had the freakin' HEAT on! Swept up dog hair, topped off the hot tub, dusted, collected the cat, the dog, Jackson and Sunkist and off we went. Drove around and looked at houses for an hour and a half. Took the dog to the dog park. Deep bleeding gouge in my index finger from collar of a very excited dog. Cat puked. Dog hair ALL OVER my freshly cleaned car. Jackson bored. Back home. Free the cat. Phone rings. Showing on Sunday 2-3.
Get up on Sunday, clean, sweep up dog hair, clean kitchen, dust, clean spa room, empty trash, sweep front porch. Mr. DD asks why I'm in a bad mood. Leaves to play golf.
Leaves everywhere. Falling faster than we can rake/blow. I now say "puck it" and let 'em fly! Sweep up dog hair again.
Collect cat, dog, and leave. Go back to turn hot tub on. Forget dog leash.
Buy new cat carrier/crate since the former one was made of cardboard and had had it. Transfer cat to new crate. Discard old crate. Cat pukes again.
Drive 20 miles to look at cookie cutter houses.
Drive by a remote area and decide to let dog out to stretch, tinkle.
No leash. Remote area...how much trouble can she get in..right? Heads straight for the road and suddenly becomes deaf. Finally get her back in the hair covered car. Cat meowing.
Come home. Free cat. Walk dog. Rain starts. Soaked and no poo poo.
    Back home. Dissolve into sofa.
Mr. DD cooking dinner. I think I might be too tired to eat.
    How was y'all's weekend?

I don't think you will find anyone that is willing to challenge you on the worst weekend story. Our weekend was relatively quiet, for us, and it felt great!

We played the "2 children/different activities" game. Me to Tallahassee to watch Will run in the last CC meet of the season. Two hours and 45 minutes each way to watch an event that is over before you can run to the port-a-potty and back to see the finish. Bonus was lunch at Ted's with fun parents and funny kids, and Will's birthday trip to The Guitar Center, to buy the "awesome amp" that didn't work. It is going back- but I sure as hell am not driving it back. Didn't get home until after dark, and was in bed by 8.

Bdarg took Kate to her championship soccer game- she scored the first goal, game tied at the end, and the other team won in overtime. They went to Flutterby after that and had a ball, then Bdarg went to the FSU Torchlight Film series, and the movie was shown at The Rep last night. Subtitles- more his thing than mine, although my brain was mush last night to the point that I could barely comprehend The Wizard of Oz, so subtitles would have been impossible.

More Flutterby today- it was so awesome! Jennifer Saunders and the CAA did a great job, lots of kids running around having fun, Kate got to assist with banner removal and got the ride of her life in a lift, and we finished the day doing the chicken dance. Loved seeing Goodwitch- she is one of the reasons we went back today- I knew she would be there!

Oh, Lord have mercy, DD! Sorry that you had a stressful weekend. I don't know about your house, but it would take me at least two months to get my house in GA in order. Gotta get going on that -- wedding reception at our home in June.
The beach house is pretty pristine. It's so peaceful there ... ahhhhh. Any clutter is hidden in the owners' closets.

I was at the beach this weekend. Weather was glorious!

    BR--trust me...start now. Just sayin'.
Bob--sounds like a good couple of days. Who doesn't like Ikea? And Einstein? And any day at Publix in a good day.
Jdarg...yours sounds like a marathon. A funn one though.
    ssb--the Cowboys played today?

DD, so sorry for your weekend; I have had those kind, and they are no fun...but, they do get better with the retelling

    my weekend was about perfect.

    Friend visiting for an architecture tour at Seaside on Friday--great Friday night supper at Shorty's; late breakfast and good conversation at Casa Goodwitch; then, Flutterby with my 2 year old grandson, aka, "the really cool green monster"; another good supper and wine and good conversation and early to bed;
wonderful Sunday morning breakfast at Hibiscus where I met the man who brought the Torchlight Series to Seaside; and the afternoon at Flutterby with my six year old granddaughter, where we both saw good friends...including JDarg and BDarg and Organicmama, and the wonderful Mrs. Art...and many others. Now, catch up on email etc., and another week begins...love this time of year in Sowal.

Oh My, DD! I actually had a realtor to my home last year and she said, "This is fabulous! All you have to do is de-clutter!" But, this is my STUFF! And, it is all strategically placed for everyone's comfort!

I feel for you and send a buyer your way post haste! My weekend was a blast. It has been delightfully beautiful and I have spent every minute enjoying it as I know the rains are coming. And, according to your rain today, we will probably get it by Thur.

I think I was abducted. I ran into a friend this afternoon while on my power walk with GF and friend said, "Oh, Y'all had fun last night!"

"Really? What time did I get home?" It all started yesterday because I had a gift card to NM Cafe and we had wine, then sat on my deck with wine (to enjoy the fabulous day), walked Sweet Pea and then to my lovely downtown neighborhood area, where I meeted and greeted quite a bit.

Went to church this morning and had my sins absolved, but started all over again. Went to an Estate Sale of .......Blank! Saw some fabulous items that I must have, but have no room. (More clutter, evidently!)

I am sorry the cat puked in the car and I hope the dog gets his hearing back soon! I'll bet you had a blast with Jackson, though!! Better days ahead~~~~~~
    Helping others is a gift.

No I think we'll add this one to the top 10 list and move on. Evan and Camden are having a big party next weekend. I think that will be more fun than the aforementioned!

    Nice quiet weekend in Sowal...

Rode the motorcycle down on Friday morning. Unpacked and headed over to the annex to pick up my dog tags. Said "hi" to Shallowsnole. Quick jaunt down to Wally-world (Walmart) to buy a couple headlight bulbs for the bike and put those in.
Mrs. Singinchicken hopped on a flight after work and flew into Ft. Walton.
Nice dinner at Nick's. They were packed!
Hit the new Publix for supplies. Got home, hit the recliners, and we were out!
Sleep! Ah, glorious sleep with no dogs to worry about!

Went to Pensacola on Saturday for the air show and twilight show (video to be posted later).

Drove home yesterday on the bike.

Great weekend! Will be back for a week around T'Giving and for almost 3 weeks around Christmas and New Years...

    See y'all then!

    I had a weekend from h e l l also DD.
I was sleeping so soundly at 7am on Sat. morning only to hear big loud trucks ascending on my pasture. I looked out the window and there were no less than 30 at that early hour.
I lease my land to some local guys that are into mud riding . They were having 1st annual toys for tots pre Thanksgiving mud ride something something. There were people of all ages walking around my woods ,banners were hung everywhere advertizing junk you need to mud ride,,,then as the morning progressed folks decided to cut through my yard. I lost it and told just a few where they could go and take their ugly mud riding jeeps/trucks.
Well, after they sold about 200 hamburgers in my pasture,it was time for the afternoon drivers meeting, so needless to say no one else cut through my yard. I stayed inside all day and cleaned out closets, praying for nightfall and peace!
The guys that lease the place were in serous make up mode,"Make a list of stuff you need us to do and we'll be right on it they say" I made the list, but doubt if one thing gets done.
On to Sunday, Sunday School was fine, I had a good group.(I teach 3rd/4th grade) Church was fine . Now on to watch the Saints...knock on the door....not more damn mud ridders...oh, hello, Rev.Woods...come in I was just watching the game...what brings you to the back 40 and how did you find my house?? (i'm not on the beaten trail)
He then proceeds to tell me that the childrens director has spoken to him and is stepping down . And it gets better, because of me..... and some misunderstanding last week end at the fall festival (oh the fall festival that I busted my butt to plan and put on??that fall festival???
I just don't know what to say, I'm missing my ballgame, the dern preacher is at my house tell me to do something about Melissa G.
So now its Monday and i have a hangover.. I just want to get away! I may come to sowal for a few days..........Oh, they even have a web site ,message boards, pictures of these mud rides, porter lane off the road.com

if you go on a weekday, the place is usually uncrowded.
