    Sesame Street Turns 40

And, if google didn't incorporate such funn into their search engine site, I would never know these things.

I was crazy about Cookie Monster; got a talking one for Christmas one year. And, I always laughed at the enunciation of the two facing faces when they were spelling something.

    Did Y'all have favorites?

I love how Google does that! Seriously, I bought some of their stock because I decided any company that did that was run right!

    Big Bird was my fave!

    Still can't say Snufaluphagus right!

'Sesame Street's' been swept, but the magic of show remains - CNN.com

(CNN) -- In the early days of "Sesame Street" -- that is, B.E. (Before Elmo) -- Sesame Street was a pretty grimy place.

The brownstone at 123 Sesame Street looked like it needed a serious power washing, the storefront of Mr. Hooper's shop was intentionally dingy and the Fix-It Shop's window was cluttered with toasters. It was gritty, but gritty in a magical way.

Maria looks better than she did 20+ yrs ago lol!

My kids grew up on SS. We only had public tv for them to watch. SS and Shining Time Station and Mr Rogers and Slim Goodbody were the best!

    Thanks for the thread!

Cookie monster or Elmo, who was cooler? I vote for Big Blue. Any monster that loves chocolate chip that much is a monster after my own heart!

I'll go with Cookie Monster, mainly because Elmo's voice gets on my nerves! Plus all the over-marketing of Elmo toys seems to be a bit much.

    I REALLY like Kermit.
