    Little-Known Big Beach Danger ~~~~WAVES~~~~~

Yesterday when I was at the beach enjoying the waves one caught me way big time off guard and tumbled me (I'm only like 98 lbs so it don't take much). I was thinking, as I was being tossed like a human tumbleweed, that this could indeed break someone's neck. I know how to dive under waves, and body surf, etc... just turned my back and WHAM!

Well, I was just reading how waves can do a lot of damage and they don't have to be big ones. Check out the link below. Good info to know on those days when we are enjoying the waves. Especially if we are not used to the action or even if we are in my case.

I caught a glimpse of the waves this morning on the way to work. If you don't have a surfboard, you have no business being in that water today!

Were they big today? I haven't been near water since Sunday - it was a yellow flag day, waves were a tad larger than normal, but not ~huge~ and lots of folks in water. As the article says, they don't even have to be big though ~~~~~~~~~

And wait til you see what all those waves brought in to shore. What a mess. The grass is OK, but so much garbage came in with it.

This was Tuesday afternoon around 2-3pm. Photos do not capture the power of the waves but it was incredible. Very strong, very red flag day!

Yes, Mother Nature is interesting. I remember being beaten up by Atlantic Coast waves when I was 12. Came up, busted up and bloody. Rushed to EMS. Be careful out there!! As my Aunt said, "The ocean floor doesn't give [in flexibility] one iota; just like falling on asphalt."
