    Baby Birds

A Carolina Wren nested in one of my container plants on the wall on my deck. I've been carefully monitoring the nest and so has my carnivorous cat! The eggs have hatched and the cat managed to jump up and take the container off the wall. Fortunately, I was able to retrieve it from the ground. I am determined to save the little creatures. Going through great measures to see them fly away free. Bought meal worms for the dad to feed them. Going to move them up further on the wall and place a cheese cloth underneath so that when they try to fly away and fall, the cat will not eat them. Any suggestions would be most helpful.

Scooter send a PM to Walton Outdoors or check their web page. They have organizations on the site that work with baby wildlife and have helped me. Perhaps they will have the information you need.

Cats... love them and then could ring their necks when they do something like this. I have 3 cats so I know.

Sounds like you are on the right track. If you run into problems, you can find phone numbers for Wildlife Rehab folks on the blog story here:
