July 4th
Our family will be in the area for the 4th of July weekend. We have 3 kids - 6, 7, 9 yrs old. What are some good recommendations for the 4th festivities?

There are morning parades in Seaside and Grayton. Then there are fireworks all along the beach starting around 8pm...you will not have a problem finding things to do that week. Enjoy.

There will be a Hobie Cat Race (The Rags to Riches Regatta) from Grayton to Seagrove on the 3rd. There will be a concert or two at Seaside that weekend I'm fairly sure.
My mind tends to wander... but fortunately, it's so weak, it doesn't get very far...

My recommendations are to see the Catamaran race, the Seaside parade, and then find a good spot on the beach (seaside/seagrove) for the fireworks.
People drive/act like idiots so I certainly do not recommend trying to drive/ride bikes to get to the fireworks - hoof it w/ bug spray on if you must move locaions.
If you are anywhere from western Seagrove to eastern Grayton just go down to the beach to get a good view. Last year I got one of the best shows by just walking down the neighborhood access to see the fireworks being shot off for Seaside and had great supplimental fireworks being shot off all down the beach. Grayton can be a bit dicey w/ young kids as many (drunk) amateurs launch from there.
