Space Shuttle Launch 3-15-09
Shot with a little Flip Video camera on a tripod from 12 miles away. The launch after sunset and civil twilight made for a beautiful backdrop. Near the end of the video you can just barely see the booster rockets dropping away. The loud bird call you here shortly after liftoff is by the guy whose condo we were at for the launch. Interesting "bird" indeed. Survived both a nail gun to his head (still needs a note from doctor to get passed TSA screening) and a bad limp due to a brown recluse spider bite and multiple skin grafts to save his leg.
