CAA & TDC ANNOUNCE CALL FOR GRAPHIC ARTISTS TO SUBMIT LOGO DESIGNS FOR BAYOU ARTS CENTER
The Cultural Arts Association of Walton County and the Beaches of South Walton Tourist Development Council are issuing a call to graphic artists to participate in a design contest to create the official logo for the Bayou Arts Center of Walton County located at 105 Hogtown Bayou Lane, off County Road 393 in Santa Rosa Beach.
The chosen theme for the competition is “historic significance.” The following will be used to measure the logo’s merit: creativity, originality, aesthetics, use of space and color, innovation, attention to detail, and the artist’s expression of the story of the setting of the center within the historic area of the County. The new logo will be reproduced on letterhead, street signage and building signage.
In order to become familiar with Bayou Arts Center and understand the property’s historic significance, graphic artists are invited to visit the Center on Thursday, January 8, 2009 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Cultural Arts Association President, Christine Burroughs, will be available to give tours and answer questions. Photographs of the property may also be taken.
The winner of the design contest will receive a $750 stipend, a complimentary CAA membership and publicity opportunities. Submissions may be made to the Cultural Arts Association through February 6, 2009, and the winner will be notified February 27, 2009. Artists may submit up to three designs for consideration.
